Huron OPP Detachment Board

Community Safety and Policing Act (CSPA) 2019
As of April 1, 2024, the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 replaced the Police Services Act, 1990. The Huron OPP Detachment Board was created under this Act.
Huron OPP Detachment Board is a joint detachment board between the following municipalities: Municipality of Bluewater, Municipality of Central Huron, Town of Goderich, Municipality of Huron East, North Huron Township, and Municipality of South Huron.
Function of the Board
The Huron OPP Detachment Board advises the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P) detachment commander assigned to the detachment, with respect to O.P.P. services in Huron County.
Membership of the Board
The Board is made up of 10 members with the following composition:

One member appointed by each of the following municipalities, who is a member of the council of the municipality, for a total of six members: Municipality of Bluewater, Municipality of Central Huron, Town of Goderich, Municipality of Huron East, North Huron Township and Municipality of South Huron.

Two members appointed jointly by the above municipalities, who are neither members of the council of, nor employees of, any of the municipalities.

Two members appointed by the Minister.
