This week the contractor completed any remaining paving planned for 2024, temporary line markings were painted, and the site prepared for winter shut down.

The South Huron Landfill has reopened to the public for regular hours. All municipal facilities, including Town Hall, South Huron Rec Centre and Stephen Township Arena are open for regular hours.

The Significant Weather Event declaration remains in effect for municipal roads and sidewalks.

Traffic continues to be shifted to the east side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street. Access to all businesses is being reasonably maintained during construction.

Drifting snow and reduced visibility are severely hampering the ability of road crews to respond according to standard timelines for winter maintenance activities.

Staff and contractors continue to clear accumulated snow from municipal roads and sidewalks.

With improvements made and a break in the weather, the Municipality is now able to end the Significant Weather Event declaration as of 4:00pm, December 4, 2024
