January 13th, 2025 South Huron Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on January 13th, 2024, South Huron Council received staff reports on topics including:

•                    Town Hall/Library Cleaning Services

o   Council granted the contract to Cheema Cleaning Services in the amount of $82,080 (excluding HST)

•                    Compliance reporting on Ontario Regulation 284/09 Budget Matters

•                    Ballantyne Municipal Drain 2024 Tender

o   Council awarded the tender for the drain repair to A. G. Hayter Contracting in the amount of $41,665 plus HST

Council received a staff summary overview presentation of the 2025 Budget. In addition to the presentation, the Finance & Budget page at SouthHuron.ca has more background information about the budgetary process.

The 2025 Municipal Budget was adopted by Council, which includes a tax rate increase of 3.20% for rural properties (Stephen and Usborne wards) and 2.36% for urban properties (Exeter). Per $100,000 of residential assessment, this translates into an annual increase of $20.02 for rural and $17.00 for urban properties.
