February 3, 2025 - Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on February 3rd, 2024, South Huron Council:

Received the presentation by Mark Zamojc of GEI Consultants Ltd regarding the Water and Wastewater Master Plan. A special meeting of Council was scheduled for February 24 to further discuss the draft plan.

Received staff reports on topics including:

o Amendment to the Development Charges By-Law; allowing for the expiry date of the current by-law to be removed, ensuring the by-law remains active and development charges continue to be collected

o Mandatory reporting of 2024 commercial and industrial water consumption information to the Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks

o 2024 Drinking Water System Annual Compliance Report to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, for information

o Fire Service Ladder Agreement with Lucan Biddulph

§  Council approved the agreement

o Fourth quarter reporting was received for the following:

§  Building & Planning activity

§  Fire Department Activity

§  By-Law Infractions & Requests for Service

o Year-end review of Council Strategic Priorities

§  The status of project goals for 2024 was received

§  Council set up a workshop to review, validate and outline priorities

·      A Committee of the Whole was set for Monday, March 31 to discuss asset management levels of service. The 2025 Asset Management Plan Update webpage is available at SouthHuron.ca for background information on this project.
