February 18th Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on February 18th, 2025, South Huron Council:

·         Received the presentation by Mr. W. Dietrich, P. Eng.; and authorized staff to initiate the tender process following the Court of Revision and expiry of any applicable appeal periods, if required, for the new drainage systems known as the Hill Municipal Drain 2025.

·         Received staff reports on topics including:

o   The final draft of South Huron’s Official Plan Five Year Review

o   A variance request for a second billboard sign located at 143 Main Street, North, Exeter.

o   2024 Annual Report for the South Huron Drinking Water System

o   Approval of Single Source Purchase for Shoulder Machine Attachment for Transportation Services

o   Consent Application C40-2024 (Ryan) – pertaining to Drain Apportionment; and Council approved the agreement on the apportioned assessments under Section 65(2) of the Drainage Act

o   Councillors Dietrich, Haggitt and Oke were appointed as members to Court of Revision for the Hill Municipal Drain 2025; to be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

o   Potential Tariffs affecting municipal operations

·         Council passed the following by-laws:

o   By-Law #14-2025, amending Development Charges By-Law #17-2020

o   By-Law #15-2025, authorizing the execution of a Fire Ladder Truck Agreement with the Township of Lucan Biddulph.

o   By-Law #17-2025, authorizing the execution of an Oversizing Servicing Agreement between the Corporation of the Municipality of South Huron and Tridon Group Ltd. and Tridon Properties Ltd.

o   By-Law #18-2025, entering into a Subdivision Agreement between the Municipality of South Huron and Tridon Properties Ltd. (40T20006 Phase 1 – Sol Haven Subdivision).
