Exeter Main Street- Weekly Update-November 22, 2024

This week the contractor completed the watermain tie-ins, fine graded the gravel road base, and placed base asphalt on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to just south of Thames Road. Road work, sewer connections, and watermain tie-ins continued north of Thames Road. Traffic continues to be shifted onto the new asphalt on the east side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street. Access to all businesses is being reasonably maintained during construction.

Next week the contractor will complete the final watermain / water service connections; install the new curb, sidewalks and place the base asphalt on the west side of Main Street from Thames Road to Walper Street. All lanes on Thames Road are open and the traffic signals are operating normally. With traffic reduced to one lane in each direction on Main Street, please expect delays and plan accordingly.
