Exeter Main Street- Weekly Update-November 1, 2024

The contractor has completed the installation of the watermain, sanitary / storm service stubs, gravel road base and the new curb on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to Thames Road. Gravel road base and watermain installation are underway on the west side of Main Street, north of Thames Road. Traffic continues to be shifted onto the new asphalt on the east side of Main Street from the bridge to Walper Street. Access to all businesses is being reasonably maintained during construction.

Next week the contractor will fine grade the gravel and place the first layers of base asphalt on the west side of Main Street from the bridge to Thames Road. Sidewalk and concrete boulevard work will continue on the west side of the roadway, south of Thames Road. The contractor will continue with watermain installation, installation of sanitary / storm service stubs and gravel road base work on the west side of the roadway from Thames Road to Walper Street. All lanes on Thames Road are open and the traffic signals are operating normally. With traffic reduced to one lane in each direction on Main Street, please expect delays and plan accordingly.
