April 7, 2025 Council Meeting Highlights

At its Regular Meeting on April 7, 2025, South Huron Council:

·         Received the delegation from CVD Group regarding proposed modification to the South Huron Official Plan Update

·         Received staff reports on topics including:

o   Draft County Official Plan Amendment

o   Dashwood Fire Station Replacement – Design and Class D quote

§  Approved the design as presented by Spriet Associated Architects and Consulting Engineers, in principle.

o   Ministry of Transportation Connecting Links program, budget amendment

§  Approved an “amendment to the budget” to add a capital budget for the Reconstruction of Main Street South (Ausable River to Victoria Street) and authorized the use of funds from the Transportation Capital Replacement Reserve to fund the municipal portion of reconstruction of Main Street South (Ausable River to Victoria Street)

o   Supporting local economic development (SLED) funding program

§  Authorized staff to apply to the SLED funding program for a South Huron youth tourism experience project.

o   AccessSLED funding program

§  Authorized staff to apply to the AccessSLED funding program for a physical location access project, in partnership with the Exeter BIA and South Huron Chamber of Commerce

o   2024 annual development charges

o   2025 Q1 By-Law enforcement, request for service and complaints

o   Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) 2024 annual cemetery reporting and cemetery master plan update

o   Library services and services agreement (Huron County)

§  Approved the draft agreement as presented; and the by-law be brought back for the required three readings
