Correspondence includes, but is not limited to, the following: letter, memorandum, report, notice, electronic mail, fax, petition, etc. Submissions may be dropped off at Town Hall, mailed, faxed or e-mailed to the Clerk.
Correspondence to Council
The Municipality of South Huron values citizen and stakeholder views and encourages all citizens to share these with Council in a respectful and open manner. Opinions and concerns can be communicated through correspondence and can be considered for inclusion on a Council agenda.
All correspondence should be addressed to "Mayor and Members of Council" in order to be considered for placement on a Council agenda. The Clerk reserves the right to withhold any correspondence from the agenda, any item that may be considered inappropriate or offensive in nature.

Timeline for submissions
Submissions received before 12:00 Noon on the Tuesday prior to a regular Council meeting will be considered for placement on that agenda and will generally appear within the "Communication Items" section.

If you wish to receive a response, please include your complete mailing address with your postal code, phone numbers and email address as part of a covering email or cover page to your submission, in order for staff to contact you.

Do not include personal information within the correspondence if you do not wish this information to be published.
Inappropriate content
Letters containing profanity or submitted anonymously will not be circulated or placed on an agenda.

Your information may be made public through the course of a meeting and corresponding agendas and minutes.
Personal information, as defined by Section 2 of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, and in accordance with the provisions of MFIPPA. This information is collected to enable Council and/or its Committees to make informed decisions on the relevant matter. Individuals who make submission to Council and/or its Committees should be aware that any personal information in their communications may become part of the public record and may be made available to the public through the agenda process which includes publication on the Municipality's website.

Request a Certificate/Birthday, Anniversary Wishes, etc.
The Office of the Mayor provides congratulatory certificates to commemorate anniversaries, birthdays, milestone occasions, official openings and other special honours.
