Pickleball

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.

All pickleball play is a municipal-led rec activity and is inclusive to all ages and skills

The Municipality of South Huron offers 8 different day time slots through the week from Monday to Thursday with sessions beginning at 8:45 am and 10:15 am.  Time slots are 1.5 hour in length.

Evening sessions run Monday to Thursday, 7 pm to 9 pm.

All participants need to sign in prior to play. The cost is $2.00 per participant, per time slot.

Due to popular demand, the Municipality is now offering  “Introduction to Pickleball”.

Starting Monday February 5th, the Introduction to Pickleball sessions will run from 6 pm to 7 pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre Hall.   Seasoned players have offered to work with beginners and those who just want to learn more about the basics including the rules of pickleball. We are asking beginners to limit their attendance to five introductory classes, this will help more beginners to learn the skills.

Introductory Sessions will be at  no cost, we provide balls, nets and we have a few rackets to sample.  Indoor running shoes are recommended.  The Introductory Session will be taking place prior to our evening session which runs from 7 pm to 9 pm.  Introductory attendants are welcome to stay for the evening session, cost will be $2.00 per person.  We do suggest calling the recreation department at 519-235-0310 extension 222 if you are interested in attending the introductory session, drop ins are also welcome.

Please note, pickleball is unavailable on the following days in February:

  • February 19

For more information, please call 519-235-0310 ext. 222 or email communityservices@southhuron.ca
