To register, please complete the Exeter Pool Registration Form. Completed forms may be emailed to communityservices@southhuron.ca or dropped off at the South Huron Recreation Centre during office hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. 

Registration forms will be accepted as of Wednesday April 23rd, 2025.

Once registration forms are received, community services staff will confirm program availability and lesson registration in the order they are received.

We strive to ensure everyone who wants to be, is registered in a class that works for them! Based on demand, we will add classes and additional times where needed throughout the season. 

General Information & Group Lesson Fees

The Exeter Pool will be offering Lifesaving Society Swimming lessons this summer. If you are unsure of what level to register in, refer to the Lifesaving Society's Conversion Chart or contact communityservices@southhuron.ca 

Group lessons will be 30 minutes in length and take place from Monday to Friday over a two-week span (10 lessons in total). You can view available class times by clicking on the various session dates below.

General Information & Private Lesson Fees

Lessons will be 30 minutes in length and take place from Monday to Friday over a one week span (5 lessons in total). A semi private lesson may be booked for a maximum of 3 children (can be siblings, friends etc.) For semi private lessons, swimmers must be within 2 levels of each other.

Bronze Medallion

This course challenges the candidate both mentally and physically.  Judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion training.  Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving skills needed to make good decisions in, on and around the water.

Prerequisites: 13+ years or Bronze Star certification

Dates: July 14- July 25 (Monday to Friday only)

Times: 8:45 AM – 12:00 PM

Please note, successful course completion and certification requires 100% attendance.

Cost: $206 including book or $146 without book (*book is mandatory for participation)

 

Bronze Cross

This course begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as assistant lifeguards.  Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin to apply the principles and techniques of active surveillance in aquatic facilities.  Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies.  Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the society’s National Lifeguard and Leadership certification programs. 

Prerequisites: Bronze Medallion and Emergency or Standard First Aid

Dates: July 14 - July 25 (Monday to Friday only)

Exeter Splash Pad

The Exeter Splash Zone is located beside the Exeter Pool at 49 MacNaughton Drive in Exeter

  • The Exeter Splash Pad is currently closed for the season and will re-open in May 2025. 

  • The splash pad is unsupervised, use at your own risk.
  • All children must be actively supervised at all times.
  • Please be courteous to others & consider safety at all times.
  • Appropriate swim attire must be worn at all times.
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear swim diapers.
  • Be mindful of inclement weather, pad shall be vacated at first sound of thunder.
  • Splash pad may be closed at any time due to weather or operational concerns.
  • Area is monitored on a regular basis.
  • Food, beverages and glass containers are not permitted in the splash pad area.
  • No pets allowed, except for service dogs.
  • No smoking in or around the splash pad area.
  • No bikes, scooters, skateboards or roller blades in the splash pad area.
  • Climbing on splash pad features is strictly prohibited.
  • Persons with infectious diseases or having open sores shall not use the splash pad.
  • Do not drink from the spray features.
  • Profanity and improper behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • No person shall pollute the water or surface of the splash pad in any manner or in the immediate area surrounding the splash pad.

The Kirkton Woodham Swimming Pool is an outdoor pool located beside the Kirkton Woodham Community Centre at 70497 Rd 164, Kirkton. The pool is jointly owned by the Township of Perth South and the Municipality of South Huron. Victoria Park Wading Pool

EarlyON offers programming at this facility. 

The Victoria Park Wading Pool is located inside Victoria Park at 109 Huron Street West at the corner of Huron Street West and Carling Street in Exeter

  • The Victoria Park Wading Pool will open for the season on Tuesday July 1st until Friday August 29th. 
  • Hours of operation are Monday to Saturday (closed on Sundays) from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
  • Open on Friday mornings from 10:00 AM - 11:30 PM in partnership with Huron County EarlyON. Join play leaders in a variety of outdoor activities, songs and games, embrace the wonders of nature, and connect with other families. Pre-registration is required, to register visit EarlyON Calendar - Huron County.
  • Admission is FREE.

  • Parents or guardians should be within arms' reach of their child/children at all times when the child/children are in the wading pool.
  • Children should be appropriately attired for their age and continence ability to prevent fouling of the pool.  (For example: swim diapers are permitted for children that are incontinent).
  • No glass container, food, or beverage is allowed in the wading pool or in the area immediately surrounding the wading pool.
  • Recreational water is not intended for drinking.
  • Do not enter the wading pool if you have an open sore or rash, or are experiencing nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.
  • No person shall pollute the water in the wading pool in any manner or on the area immediately surrounding the wading pool.
  • No person shall engage in boisterous play in or about the wading pool.  No horsing around.
