Our parking service strives to balance the availability of residential street parking between the needs of residents and the needs of the greater transportation and commercial community.
This is done by amending the Traffic & Parking By-law or developing new programs to address the needs of the public. Enforcement is monitored on an ongoing basis and direction is given as need to target problem areas/offences and to address other issues. All tickets are issued to comply with the appropriate by-law and the Provincial Offences Act.
If you have received a parking ticket you can either pay the ticket or request a trial to dispute the ticket. Please see below and refer to the back of your infraction notice for payment details:
Option 1: Voluntary Payment
Early Payment: amount due when payment is received within 7 days of parking infraction.
Set Fine: amount due when making payment after 7 days and within 15 days of parking infraction
A) Payment in Person
Payment of traffic fines can be made in person at the Municipality of South Huron's Municipal Office located at 322 Main Street South, Exeter during business hours. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Cash, cheque, and debit are accepted forms of payment
B) Payment by Mail
Cheque or money orders can be mailed to:

Please DO NOT send cash in the mail and allow sufficient mailing time for your payment to be delivered. Make all cheques and money orders payable to the "Municipality of South Huron” and write the ticket number on the front of cheque.
Option 2: Trial Request (not accepted by mail)
1. You or your agent MUST attend in person at the office shown above within the times and days shown to file a Notice of Intention to Appear in Court.
2. You or your agent must bring your parking ticket with you.
3. You cannot set a trial date by mail
