The 2018 Municipal Election will be held on October 22, 2018.
The South Huron 2018 Municipal Election will be conducted using Internet and Telephone Voting. The electronic methods of voting will provide individuals with:
- many advance days of voting;
- voting 24 hours of the day/seven days of the week;
- the ability to vote from anywhere in the world.
Simply Voting is the service provider for electronic election services for the 2018 Municipal Election in South Huron. Please find below their instructional videos for both internet voting and telephone voting.

Further information about the 2018 Municipal Election will be provided on this website as it becomes available, and through Public Information Sessions to be scheduled in 2018. The Municipal Clerk is the Returning Officer for the Election and questions in respect to elections should be directed to the Clerk's Office.
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) is pleased to announce that the 2018 update to "So You Want to Run for Council" will be available mid to late February, 2018. Follow this link for more information.
The Municipal Elections Act places responsibility on the Clerk to have regard to the needs of the electors and candidates with disabilities. Accessible Customer Service Standards must be followed when conducting municipal elections. South Huron municipal elections will be conducted in a manner that shall ensure that Candidates and electors with disabilities have full and equal access to all election information and services, including the voting kiosk at the municipal office. 2018 Election Manual - Appendix "A" forms. Nominations for the 2018 municipal and school board elections may be filed beginning May 1, 2018. Updated Guides and Forms will be posted upon receipt from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (estimated timeline April 2018).
The Municipal Elections Modernization Act, 2016 made changes to the Municipal Elections Act. Some of these do not come into effect until April 1, 2018. Municipal Elections Act Review
